Leftism: A Bibliography

UPDATED FREQUENTLY, MOST RECENTLY ON 10/11/17

Many of the following sources are quoted or referred to in “Leftism“. The rest are relevant to the discussion there and at many other posts on this blog. This is only a partial list of the many books, articles, and posts that inform my views about leftism. I will occasionally add relevant items to the list.

Everything that I have read merely supplements what I have observed in the 60 years since I was first exposed, as a college freshman, to the world outside my small-town upbringing. For a recounting of my intellectual journey away from leftism, see “About“.

BOOKS, ARTICLES, AND POSTS BY OTHER WRITERS (Entries are listed alphabetically by author’s last name. This is a small sample of relevant items, and it’s weighted heavily toward material that came to my attention in the weeks and months preceding the original posting of “Leftism”.)

Anonymous Google employee, “Reply to Public Response and Misrepresentation” (This is predictably called an “anti-diversity screed” by Gizmodo. It’s also available in “Dissent at Google” at Vox Populi, which frames it more realistically. The “screed” relies on the kinds of scientific findings about intellectual, biological, and innate behavioral differences between males and females to which I have linked many times. For a small taste of relevant research, delivered with customary flair, see Scott Alexander, “Gender Imbalances Are Mostly Not Due to Offensive Attitudes“, Slate Star Codex, August 1, 2017. As expected, the author was identified and fired for perpetuating stereotypes telling the truth. For links to many other related posts, see “Leftism As Crypto-Fascism: The Google Paradigm“.)

POSTS AT MY BLOGS: LIBERTY CORNER AND POLITICS & PROSPERITY

A list of relevant posts would number in the hundreds, so it’s simpler to refer you to the following sections of “Favorite Posts“:

Not all posts in those sections are about leftism, but a good many either address it directly or deal with its consequences. Posts are listed chronologically in each section, so it’s best to begin with the most recent post in a section and work backwards. A lot of posts include links to related posts, as well as to external sources. Look at the date at the top of “Favorite Posts” to see how current it is. You may find links to some relevant, recent posts in the right sidebar that haven’t yet been added to “Favorite Posts”.
